Our Program Management experience includes:
Managed city Sewer Overflow Long Term Control Plan's Public Participation program
Client: City of Indianapolis, Indianapolis, Indiana
Services: Co-managed Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson's public participation process regarding the city's sewer overflow long term control plan through the design and delivery of community education sessions; facilitated the Mayor's advisory panel; and designed and delivered public forums to obtain input for the final version of the plan.
Designed and implemented school-wide improvement project for juvenile correctional facilities
Client: Indiana Department of Correction, Indianapolis, Indiana
Services: Worked with North Central Accreditation to design and implement a school-wide needs assessment and improvement project for juvenile correctional facilities in Indiana. Activities included managing school-wide implementation teams; collecting and analyzing school performance data; establishing performance goals; training personnel on improving student outcomes; evaluation design; and providing professional development to assist school personnel to improve plan implementation.
Management of outreach and education services to faith and community-based organizations to receive funding to provide human services
Client: Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Divison of Family and Children, Indianapolis, Indiana
Services: Managed FaithWorks Indiana, a nationally-recognized program that connected faith-based and community-based organizations with government services to designed to move families to self-sufficiency, including outreach and education to organizations; policy advisors to State agencies; spokesperson at events; and technical advisors.
Created and managed education program for consumers of state-funded mental health services
Client: Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Divison of Mental Health and Addiction, Indianapolis, Indiana
Services: Created and managed the SHAPE Initiative for the State of Indiana, which informed low-income mental health and addiction consumers of State-funded services of their rights related to provider choice. Services included managing a multi-line toll free call center and website and conducting on-site monitoring visits with service providers to ensure adequate program implementation.
Managed statewide initative to improve non-custodial fathers' support for their children
Client: Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Division of Family and Children, Indianapolis, Indiana
Services: Managed Indiana Fathers & Families initiative, a grant program for social service providers, designed to improve non-custodial fathers' emotional and financial support for their children. We developed statewide request for proposals; managed proposal review process; conducted annual monitoring visits to local providers; managed website; coordinated Fatherhood conference in 2000; developed a Telly Award-winning video for the program; and worked with national networks to offer technical assistance.
Provided technical assistance to improve statewide workforce development program
Client: Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Indianapolis, Indiana
Services: Provided technical assistance to Workforce Investment Act local partners to improve the state's workforce investment One Stop system. Technical assistance included identifying best practices for Workforce Investment Board (WIB) leadership; analyzing WIB performance; developing strategies for assisting WIBs to become more involved in regional economic development; writing grant applications for federal funding; providing guidance to one-stop offices on strategies for improved services; planning fee-for-service activities; and developing corrective action plans for WIBs that fail to meet performance standards.
Management of transition of district-wide reading and math education program
Client: Sonoma Valley Education Foundation and Sonoma Valley Unified District, Sonoma, California
Services: Managed transition year of district-wide Grade Level Proficiency Project (GLPP), a comprehensive professional development classroom-based coaching program for teachers in grades 1-3 with students who have below grade level proficiency in reading and math. We oversaw the transition of the program from consultant oversight to district oversight. Activities include budget management, team communications, hiring transition staff, program evaluation and implementation manual design.
